LEAD Board
The InPlace Leadership Exploration and Development (LEAD) Board is for folks ages 20-40 years old from around the world interested in getting involved in our work and learning about board service. LEAD promotes and supports the mission of IVS to provide innovative learning opportunities that affirm social and environmental justice worldwide and advances these objectives by:
Attending InPlace board meetings and serving on at least one committee.
Increasing membership support and awareness of InPlace and its programs through social networking, public outreach, and various public relations outreach.
Managing and designing event planning and fundraising activities (including networking and collaborating with other agencies) towards an annual InPlace fundraising goal.
Designing and participating in curriculum development and community/international based projects based on InPlace programs and initiatives.
Become an InPlace Ambassador
Join our campus outreach team and help spread the word about InPlace programs. InPlace Ambassadors will play an active role in helping develop and implement the on-campus marketing and communications strategy each quarter. This will include co-developing a plan with InPlace staff and select board members, as well as working with the group to carry out activities.
What will you gain?
Transferable skills in outreach & marketing that may help you in your future career
Hone your leadership skills by becoming a peer mentor for students that are about to leave on an InPlace trip
Stay engaged with InPlace activities in Bellingham after you return from your trip abroad
A stipend to help compensate for transportation and other costs to be a InPlace Ambassador
Location: University campuses, including WWU
Oversight: You will work directly with InPlace staff and members of the board. If you're at the beginning of your career this is a great way to gain experience and get first-hand knowledge of how an NGO operates, and a unique perspective on international education and development.

Volunteer or Intern
Are you passionate about global issues and looking for a way to get more experience in international programming and development? We need your help! InPlace strives to give volunteers and interns meaningful experiences and will work with you to tailor a position to your interests, availability and commitment level.
Volunteer or Intern Projects Might Include:
Community outreach
Online & print marketing and communications
Fundraising for overseas projects
Research on a variety of issues related to NGO management, international development and study abroad
Event planning
Or any project we can dream up - the possibilities are limitless!
